I studied engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand in the early 1980's.
I graduated with a BSc in Civil Engineering in 1984 and an MSc in Water Engineering in 1986.
I continued with research at the University, and my interest in computers can be traced back to my three years spent developing a hydrological simulation model.
I was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy for hydrological modelling in 1992.
I now have a solid 15 years of engineering and project management experience behind me.
I took up employment with Transnet in 1991, working initially in Johannesburg as a Design Engineer and later in Durban as a Senior Engineer.
I have been responsible for project management and design functions on a wide range of engineering and multi-disciplinary projects.
I have also done extensive project scheduling using Microsoft Project and other scheduling software.
I currently operate as a project management consultant, trainer and author.
I have been extensively involved in project management and Microsoft Project training.
I am privileged to have trained delegates from various industries, both in South Africa and abroad.
I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and I have a passion for teaching practical Project Management principles.
Rene Jobse
PMP, Dip (IT), BCom
My formal studies include a diploma in Electronic Data Processing (1983) and my BCom degree (1993).
I achieved certified Project Management Professional status (PMP) in 2002.
I started my career in the information technology industry as a business application developer at Eskom and Volkskas.
I moved on to training and career path planning at Samcor, and from there to project management training
and consulting in my own business, Vision Mapping, and later at Fulcrum Business Solutions.
I currently offer consulting and training services in project management and project scheduling.
I have acquired extensive experience in the field of project management, and have developed
successful Microsoft Project training material. I have consulted companies in various industries including
pharmaceutical, mining, brewing, banking, IT, petroleum and manufacturing. I also played a key role in establishing an enterprise project management platform when
Microsoft launched their enterprise software in 2001.
My vision is to be known as a catalyst that ignites the genius locked within people, and I envision
being a hub of many initiatives to enable and empower people to multiply their God-given talents.
The hope that is created when people are living their passions, being the best they can be,
will have a ripple affect on the socio-economic profile of many families, in South Africa, Africa, and
ultimately, on the world.
